With the 45th pick, the Saints bring Kool-Aid to New Orleans

In Round 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints chose OT Taliese Fauga. With their second pick of the 2024 draft, Saints TE, Taysom Hill announced that the Saints have taken University of Alabama cornerback Ga’Quincy Kool-Aid McKinstry. McKinstry was nicknamed “Kool-Aid” by his grandmother as a baby because his smile reminded her of the Kool-Aid man. He signed an NIL deal with Kool-Aid as a freshman at Alabama.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, McKinstry was named the 2021 High school defensive player of the year. He went on to play the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide before entering the 2024 NFL draft. McKinstry was named first team All-American in 2023 and put-up impressive tackle numbers for the Tide.

Welcome to New Orleans, Kool-Aid!
