Last offseason, Chiefs legend Tamba Hali took former first-round draft pick George Karlaftis under his wing, training him in various martial arts. The work helped pave the way to a career season for Karlaftis, during which he recorded 47 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Another former first-round draft pick for the Chiefs is now under Hali’s tutelage, and it’s music to the ears of the Chiefs Kingdom. The 12-year NFL veteran shared a video on Wednesday, April 24 training alongside 2023 first-round draft pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah. The two are seen working on martial arts hand-fighting techniques.

Without glaring holes on the roster, Buccaneers GM Jason Licht opts to trade down in this scenario with Kansas City.

For a Chiefs roster that could be looking to jump the Buffalo Bills (No. 28) for a shot at one of the premier wideouts in tier two, GM Brett Veach finds his partner in Tampa Bay to boost his WR room

1983 NFL Draft, No. 7 overall pick: QB Todd Blackledge

While John Elway was the first player selected, the Chiefs still had their choice of two other future Hall of Fame quarterbacks — Jim Kelly and Dan Marino — with the seventh overall pick. It’s safe to say that Kansas City would have selected either quarterback if given the chance at a do-over. The Chiefs enjoyed moderate success with Steve DeBerg and Dave Krieg until someone named Joe Montana led them to an AFC Championship Game appearance in 1993.

Not a marketing gimmick

“As we speak Louis is in Texas catching balls with Patrick Mahomes,” he told Planet Rugby. “No amount of marketing can make that happen.

“The team that just won back-to-back Super Bowls not only signed him, they actively recruited him. The head coach was calling his phone every day, the General Manager was calling his phone every day. You can’t buy that.

“There’s nothing the NFL can do to make that happen. Absolutely nothing. I can’t get Andy Reed to call...
