NFL Network’s lead draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah has the Broncos trading back and still getting Oregon QB Bo Nix in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

NFL Network’s lead draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah has released his final mock draft and has the Broncos trading back but still getting a quarterback. He has the Broncos trading back with the Philadelphia Eagles and getting Oregon quarterback Bo Nix.

Jeremiah says that Nix “feels like a Sean Payton quarterback”. He gets rid of the ball quickly, good processor, and he compares Nix to the Miami Dolphins quarterback. Tua Tagovailoa.

Trade Details

  • Broncos receive: 22nd overall, 2nd (50th overall) and 5th round(171st overall)
  • Eagles receive: 12th overall

Yesterday, there were rumors that the Broncos were having trade talks with the Eagles and Steelers and were open to moving back from 12th overall. Well, Jeremiah must be hearing the same because he has the Broncos moving back with the Eagles, and acquiring a second-round pick and a day three selection.

Personally, this would be a great move for the Broncos. Nix is a talented prospect who really does fit well in Sean Payton’s offense. The team quietly did a lot of work on Nix throughout the draft process and he has become a popular selection for him as we are now under 24 hours from the start of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Nix fits Payton’s offense very well. He is often compared to former Saints quarterback Drew Brees, which is unfair, but a noteworthy comparison because we have Sean Payton as the head coach. He is at his best as a quick rhythm passer, intelligent, and is pretty athletic. Sure, he is a little older, but he comes into the league very experienced and ready to start day one. Fit always matters when it comes to quarterbacks and I think this is an incredible fit for Nix.

I also like getting back at least a second-round pick in return from the Eagles. This would give the Broncos a second-round pick and one they can use to add some much-needed talent to the roster. I personally, would like to see the Broncos use that pick to add some playmakers to the offense whether that be at receiver, running back, or tight end. Surround Nix with talent and let's get this offense going.
