Diehard fans do not mess around when it comes to the FIBA World Cup. They take this quadrennial spectacle extremely seriously, especially when global icon Lionel Messi is at the forefront. Skip Bayless never shies away from controversy, however. The former award-winning sportswriter and current podcaster riled up plenty of people on social media when he dropped some interesting takes during Tuesday’s Group J matchup between Argentina and Algeria.
Messi enchanted many en route to a history-making hat trick inside Kansas City Stadium, or as Chiefs fans know it, Arrowhead Stadium. Bayless extolled the all-time great, but he was not...

The Browns, Ravens, and Steelers all made sweeping organization changes this offseason, but unlike their AFC North rivals, the Bengals are staying the course with de facto general manager Duke Tobin and head coach Zac Taylor.
Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn, the team’s No. 2 executive after president and principal owner Mike Brown, backed her team’s leadership in an interview on Monday. (Blackburn is Brown’s daughter. Her husband, Troy, serves as vice president and their daughters, Caroline and Elizabeth, were promoted to the same titles this offseason, per ESPN’s Ben Baby.)

With quarterback Baker Mayfield set to be a free agent after the season, rumors have already begun spawning about his future with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he isn’t the only player on the team with contract problems.
Defensive tackle Vita Vea is entering the final year of his contract as well. As he seeks out a new deal, Vea hasn’t be participating at minicamp, via Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.
“The defensive tackle market is now into the [30 millions],” Garafolo said. “This is well above where Vea is, the market has gone up significantly. The fact he...

In the modern-day NFL, minicamp is mostly a fun way for NFL teams like the Philadelphia Eagles to get their players together, throw on some pads, and connect with their teammates, old and new.
Sure, there is some system programming, with offensive players of all experience levels getting a crack at Sean Mannion’s playbook, but in the end, it’s mostly about the good without a massive roster crunch approaching, where dozens of players around the league will see their NFL teams come to a screeching halt on August 26.
And yet, because almost a third of the players on the...

The United Football League’s 2026 season wrapped last Friday with the DC Defenders’ United Bowl win over the Louisville Kings.
Now, many UFL players are looking to make the jump to the NFL, including former Buccaneers and Rams linebacker Olakunle Fatukasi. He worked out for the Cowboys on Monday, according to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson.
Fatukasi, 27, logged 23 tackles (three for loss) and two sacks in seven games for the Birmingham Stallions this year. His first NFL experience came in Tampa Bay, where he made the 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie in 2022. He carved out a special teams...

The GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, is packed Tuesday night, but it’s not because Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are on the field. After all, it’s still the NFL offseason.
The evening’s main attraction in Kansas City is none other than the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage match between Argentina and Algeria. To be more specific, all eyes are simply on football superstar Lionel Messi, who is donning his country’s colors again in the biggest stage of the sport.
Mahomes, along with wife Brittany Mahomes, is even in the building to watch Messi....

The home of the Dallas Cowboys is likely going to witness history.
On Tuesday night Argentina played their first match of this summer’s World Cup and the Greatest Of All Time in Lionel Messi scored a hat trick against Algeria.
Again… the GOAT.
As you can see, Messi tied Miroslav Klose for the most goals scored in World Cup history as he now sits at 16. The match in question for Argentina took place in Kansas City at the home of the Chiefs. Obviously matches are happening all over the country, and recently AT&T Stadium (what the World Cup is...

The Detroit Lions received encouraging news Tuesday as Sam LaPorta’s injury outlook improved following minicamp. Dan Campbell said the Lions’ tight end is trending in the right direction after back surgery ended his 2025 season.
LaPorta underwent surgery for a herniated disc that ended his season in November. Now, the Lions appear optimistic that one of its top pieces can return for training camp.
That timing is relevant for the Lions’ 2026 plans. LaPorta has recorded 186 catches, 2,104 yards, and 20 touchdowns through 42 career games, giving the offense a proven middle-field weapon.

The New York Knicks have become the talk of the town with their latest NBA Championship. Offensive lineman Joe Tippmann is hoping to have a celebration like their basketball counterparts someday.
Although he does admit some of that celebration was a bit jarring, Tippmann loved seeing the fans’ excitement. If the Jets do ever win a Super Bowl, New York will be on fire once more, via SNY.
“It’s been nuts – I didn’t go into the city, looked a little scary for my taste,” Tippmann said. “But to see the way they’re celebrating, that makes me even more want...

The Los Angeles Chargers have become known for being Justin Herbert and not much else in recent years, but they are hoping to change that narrative in 2026. LA brought in Mike McDaniel, one of the best minds in all of football, as its new head coach, and thinks that it has a much better supporting cast around its star quarterback coming into next season.
In fact, head coach Jim Harbaugh is willing to take it a step further. He thinks all three of his wideouts can be stars, per Vincent Bonsignore of the New York Post.
