The Jets are on their bye week, but the team is working out a number of players, including free agent quarterbacks.
Now it should be noted that there isn’t anything unusual about a team working out free agents. Frequently teams do this just for due diligence. If an injury opens a roster spot, you need to know which potential replacement signings are in game shape.
What draws our attention is the Jets working out a pair of quarterbacks. This is because Tyrod Taylor missed the last game before the bye, a game he likely would have started if healthy, with...

Now that the bye week is here, it’s time to update you on former Jets players and how they’ve been faring with their current teams. We will cover this in three parts, looking at offense today, then defense and finally special teams over the next few days.
As ever, this list is intended to be exhaustive, but if we missed anyone, let us know in the comments.
Commanders:
Offensive lineman George Fant and quarterback Josh Johnson remain on Washington’s active roster but neither has played yet.
The Commanders just released wide receiver Robbie Chosen from their practice squad after a...

The New York Jets traded cornerback Michael Carter II and a 2027 seventh round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver John Metchie III and a 2027 sixth round pick. The Jets seem to prefer Jarvis Brownlee at slot cornerback. Since Carter can’t play outside cornerback, that made him an expensive and expendable piece. The Jets need help at wide receiver, so maybe Metchie can help there, though his track record in the last four years suggests he’s a long shot to produce much. Moving up from a 7th to a 6th...

Bye weeks are never dull, especially if you’re a New York Jets fan.

Speaking on his “Travis Take Two” podcast, former NY Jets quarterback Jordan Travis (and his brother Devon) spoke about the current state of the team, and owner Woody Johnson.
“What Woody Johnson did with Justin Fields, be better,” began Devon Travis. “Speaking about your players publicly...

The Jets finally got their first win of the 2025 season in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
It was a win the team needed. It was also a win the coach needed. Nobody wants to start off his career with an 0-7 record as a head coach. Last week we asked Jets fans whether they believe Glenn is the right...

The Jets recently claimed rookie linebacker Kobe King off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings. Today we break King down in detail.
The 22-year old King is listed at 6’1″ and 250 pounds and was a sixth round pick out of Penn State in April. King, who was an all-Big Ten second-teamer in 2024, recorded four tackles in five NFL games with the Vikings but only played three defensive snaps.
Background
King was a three-star high school recruit who headed to Penn State in 2021 and redshirted his first year, although he did play in four games, recording three tackles.
