I guess my first thought on everything that happened at the trade deadline is that I need to pick my jaw off the floor. I was genuinely shocked that Sauce Gardner got traded and pretty surprised that Quinnen Williams was. The article I wrote ahead of yesterday’s trade deadline certainly looks like a first ballot addition into my Hall of Fame of terrible predictions. (In fairness to me, I figured the Jets would want to keep the cornerback they just signed to a lucrative extension a few months back instead of taking a $20 million dead money hit, and I...

Good morning Gang Green Nation!
The New York Jets shocked a lot of people yesterday. They traded arguably the two best players on the team in Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner. In exchange the Jets received wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, defensive tackle Mazi Smith, three first round picks and a second round pick. The Jets now have five first round picks and three second round picks in the next two drafts combined. They also are now in the top five of NFL teams for 2026 cap space and #1 in 2027 cap space. This is the complete teardown and rebuild...

I wrote an article in 2023 that I knew would be received mostly poorly. I did it anyway because I thought the thesis was interesting and worth talking about. At the time, the comments were not all rosy. Here are some examples:

Shortly after the NY Jets sent cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for two first-round draft picks (and wide receiver AD Mitchell), Darren Mougey was once again making moves in New York. This time, the Jets sent defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys in a trade, per Ian Rapoport. Details in the trade include two first-round picks, where the Jets will get the higher of Dallas’ two 2027 first-round selections. New York also receives a second-round pick, and third-year defensive tackle Mazi Smith.

The NFL trade deadline always seems to have a blockbuster occur near the end of the deadline. And this year, that trade involves the New York Jets. It’s now official that the NY Jets have traded cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts. The Jets will receiver two first-round picks, one in 2026, and the other in 2027. They also get wide receiver Adonai Mitchell in the exchange.
This trade comes just months after the Jets gave Gardner a four-year, $120.4 million extension in the offseason.
“New York it’s been real,” wrote Gardner on X (formerly Twitter).

Now that the bye week is here, it’s time to update you on former Jets players and how they’ve been faring with their current teams. Having looked at offensive and defensive players over the past few days, we’ll be concluding with a look at special teamers today.
As ever, this list is intended to be exhaustive, but if we missed anyone, let us know in the comments.
Kickers
Cairo Santos, Bears
Santos has only played in six games due to injury but he has kicked well, with only three missed kicks all year. One was costly, though, as he missed...

It is trade deadline day in the NFL. The Jets and the other 31 teams have until 4:00 pm Eastern today to strike deals. There are plenty of rumors about players from the 1-7 Jets leaving town.
I’m going to group these players based on how aggressively I think the Jets should be looking to move them.
Quincy Williams: Quincy Williams is the one player I think the Jets should be actively looking to move before the deadline. He is in the final year of his contract and unlikely to return next season. The team...

Good morning Gang Green Nation!
The New York Jets received some good news on the injury front recently. Head coach Aaron Glenn announced that wide receiver Garrett Wilson will return to practice this week. No assurances were given that Wilson would return to action this coming Sunday, but if he does that will give the Jets’ moribund offense a huge boost. Justin Fields (presumably) will surely appreciate the return of his only decent wide receiver target. Let’s hope that happens this Sunday.
Here are your links to your New York Jets this glorious Tuesday in November:

Tonight the Dallas Cowboys host the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 8:15 p.m. EST.
The Cowboys come into this game with a 3-4-1 record, good for second place in the NFC East. They have an undefeated 2-0-1 record at home this season. The Cowboys are a team of extremes. They have an outstanding offense, ranking first in the NFL in passing yards and second in first downs, yards gained and points scored. The defense, on the other hand, is bad. The Cowboys rank 30th in passing yards allowed, rushing yards allowed and...

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn announced to the media on Monday that starting safety Andre Cisco is out for the remainder of the 2025 season with a shoulder injury.
The Jets signed Cisco as a free agent from Jacksonville during the offseason to a one year contract. The team was hoping to see him bounce back from a rough 2024. Cisco had strong years in 2022 and 2023.
Cisco’s 2025 with the Jets was up and down. I think it would be fair to say to say there were downs than ups.
A pending free agent, Cisco’s future with the...

The NFL trade deadline arrives at 4:00 pm Eastern on Tuesday. Traditionally the NFL’s deadline has been quieter than those in other major professional sports leagues. Activity has picked up, however, in recent years.
The Jets find themselves with a 1-7 record as we approach the deadline. The team has a number of veteran players who could interest other teams. Thus there is a lot of chatter about whether the Jets will be major sellers.
To answer the question of whether they should, I propose that we step into a time machine and go back a year.

The New York Jets had a Week 9 bye. The team entered the week holding the second spot in the 2026 NFL Draft. By not playing and not losing, the team had a slight drop.
