The Falcons prepare for a meeting against a team that’s had their number more than almost any other team in the league in the Indianapolis Colts.
The last four meetings have resulted in the spoils being shared, with Atlanta winning in 2011 and 2023. When you consider the historic context of this matchup, that’s an immense accomplishment for the Falcons, who had only ever beaten Indianapolis one time — during their 14-win season in 1998 — before that 2011 game, where rookie Julio Jones had two impressive touchdowns and a coming out party.

For the first time under Terry Fontenot, the Falcons fully dedicated their draft capital towards upgrading the defense. It was the logical move to make following four years of investing top picks at the most prominent offensive positions. Addressing glaring needs at edge rusher and across the secondary was vital toward revamping the defense. The results have been hugely encouraging, with all four players having standout moments and contributing with savvy plays.
If a hamstring injury didn’t derail him, Billy Bowman Jr. would have garnered serious consideration as the most impressive rookie. His playmaking skills, combined with the physical edge...

The Atlanta Falcons are sitting at 3-5, and one reason is a lack of depth and an overabundance of injuries. To fans’ dismay, Terry Fontenot did not make a deal at the trade deadline—why?
The Falcons are already entering the 2026 draft without their 1st or 5th-round draft picks. Would throwing away another pick be in the best interest of the team in the long run? The team didn’t seem to think so, and I didn’t either —what does that say about internal expectations for this season? Is this a head coach and general manager with...

In what could be a fever dream or an Oktoberfest hangover, the Atlanta Falcons are set to take on the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin on Sunday, a game where they are 6.5-point underdogs, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
This is not a great time for the Falcons to be taking on one of the top teams in the AFC, and especially across the pond. Atlanta is 1-2 all-time in Europe games, winning its first contest in 2021 against the New York Jets.
They won’t be taking on the Jets, however — it will be the Indianapolis Colts who sit at 7-2 and...

As satisfying as it was for the city of Atlanta to see the Falcons use a first-round pick on a Georgia Bulldog, there was some trepidation about using a premium pick on a player who isn’t a prototypical edge rusher. It’s no secret that the defense has been severely lacking in the pass-rushing department for nearly a decade. Everyone had become accustomed to the team ranking at the bottom of all pass-rushing categories. Jeff Ulbrich was adamant that those days had to end for the defense to excel.
Drafting Jalon Walker was a true statement of intent, despite the prolific...

It didn’t take long for the rookies to make their mark in Atlanta. On Sunday night in a daunting environment in Minnesota, all four rookies who are either starting or playing significant snaps made a notable impact. Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. earned their first sacks. Xavier Watts and Billy Bowman Jr. produced their first interceptions. It was a gratifying...
