The New York Jets are one of the worst franchises in all of American professional sports. And this isn’t an opinion, it’s a fact.

The Woody Johnson-owned New York Jets have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2010 season and certainly will not this year, which will extend their playoff drought to 15 seasons, which is the longest-running absence from the postseason across the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL.

Johnson purchased the Jets in 2000 and since that point, they’ve won just 175 games, which ranks 25th in the NFL, and has overseen just one division title and six playoff appearances.

The dumpster fire that is the New York Jets isn’t only something its fans must suffer through, but its players, too, as evidenced by the team’s F grade in last season’s NFLPA annual report card, which grades NFL organizations based on treatment of families, food/dining, nutrition/dietician, locker room, training room, training staff, weight room, strength coaches, team travel, head coach, and ownership.

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson lead a charge to pressure the NFLPA union to stop putting out its annual “report cards”

According to ESPN, it was Jets owner Woody Johnson — alongside dArt Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Robert Kraft of the New England Patriots, Michael Bidwill of the Arizona Cardinals and David Tepper of the Carolina Panthers — called the survey “totally bogus” during the owners meetings in March and suggested that it violated the CBA.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Johnson was personally offended by the Jets’ report card, either, as of all their scores, “ownership” was the only one to individually get an F grade.

“Johnson said he took issue with ‘how they collected the information [and] who they collected it from. [It] was supposed to be according to the agreement we have with the league. It’s supposed to be a process [where] we have representatives and they have representatives, so we know that it’s an honest survey.'”

“‘And that was violated, in my opinion. I’m going to leave it at that, but I think there are a lot of owners that looked at that survey and said this is not fair, it’s not balanced, it’s not every player, it’s not even representative of the players.'” [via ESPN]

Not all of the NFL’s big wigs feel that way, though, with one owner telling ESPN that “the only owners who don’t care for [the report cards] are the ones who get the subpar grades.” Unsurprisingly, Johnson, Rooney, Kraft, Kidwell, and Tepper received ownership grades of D or worse, with Johnson’s Jets receiving an F.
