Some of us believe that to be the case, while one of us isn’t holding our breath.
After playing each other twice in three weeks last season, the San Francisco 49ers (5-4) close the season series with the Seattle Seahawks (4-5) on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.
Last month, the 49ers traveled north to Lumen Field and beat its division rival 36-24. Brock Purdy led the 49ers offense with three touchdowns–all in the second half–and the San Francisco defense forced the Seattle offense to commit three turnovers with a pair of interceptions. Jordan Mason and Issac Guerendo combined for 172 rushing yards on 19 carries, gashing Seattle’s bottom-five run defense.
Seattle’s run defense won’t get a break on Sunday either, with Chrisitan McCaffrey making his 2024 home debut after his season debut last week in Tampa Bay.
After Seattle dominated the rivalry through the 2010s, the 49ers are looking for their seventh consecutive win against the Seahawks.

Predictions
Andrew Pasquini: 49ers 38, Seahawks 10
The 49ers haven’t put together a complete game yet this season, and that’s the cause of most of their issues. Last week against Tampa Bay, the 49ers jumped out to an early 10-0 lead before stagnating and allowing the Bucs to stay in the game all the way until the end. Even the last time the 49ers played against Seattle, San Francisco jumped out to a 16-0 lead before letting the Seahawks chip away and cut the lead to six before the 49ers pulled away.
The 49ers will finally play that complete game on Sunday. Seattle has been reeling of late, losing five of its last six dating back to Week 4. San Francisco finally feels like it has some momentum going after winning consecutive games for the first time. Christian McCaffrey will score at least three touchdowns as he torches the Seattle defense.
Jason Aponte: 49ers 31, Seahawks 21
The 49ers are the better team. Full stop. On Sunday, the Seahawks will be a different team than the team from weeks ago on Thursday Night Football. For starters, their defensive line will be bolstered by returning starters. On the flip side, their offensive line is about to see change over with their center retiring and Abraham Lucas returning to right tackle. All that said, the 49ers are the better team in every facet. Christian McCaffrey is back and this is the week the team exorcises their red zone demons. If the 49ers reach the red zone four times on Sunday, three will turn into touchdowns.
There’s no better time to turn in the best performance of the season than against Seattle. The 49ers will have seven straight victories over Seattle, and if you had told a 49er fan in 2012, they would have institutionalized you for such a thought. Seattle will throw the kitchen sink since...
