The New England Patriots have had some great running backs over their 55-year history and some of those rushers had standout rookie seasons.

Not even Hall-of-Famer Curtis Martin ever did what Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson did in Week 11 on “Thursday Night Football” vs. the New York Jets though.

“TreVeyon Henderson: 1st NE rookie ever to have 2 rushing TDs & receiving TD in a game,” ESPN’s Mike Reiss posted on Bluesky Friday morning.

The second-round pick had another huge game on Thursday, leading New England’s offense to a 27-14 win over its division rivals.

Henderson scored all three touchdowns for the Patriots, finishing with a career-high 19 carries for 62 yards and two scores on the ground while adding five catches on five targets for 31 yards and another score through the air.

The 23-year-old didn’t have any explosive plays like he did in his Week 10 breakout (his longest rush went for nine yards vs. the Jets) but he finished with at least 55 rushing yards for the fourth straight game.

After earning no more than 14 touches across his first eight games, Henderson has stepped up big time in starter Rhamondre Stevenson’s injury absence, recording 264 rushing yards and four touchdowns in his last three games.

New England doesn’t play again until Nov. 23 when it faces the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 12.
