New Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady is reportedly trying to bring a fellow Super Bowl-winning signal-caller to Sin City.

The Raiders finished a disappointing 4-13 in 2024, leading to the dismissal of head coach Antonio Pierce and GM Tom Telesco. Former USC and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was brought in as the new HC, with John Spytek taking over the GM chair.

According to a report from Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Tom Brady is trying to recruit Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Rams are fielding offers on the 37-year-old quarterback who’s signed through 2026:

“The Raiders have emerged as a potential landing spot for veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has been given permission by the Rams to speak with other teams to gauge his market outside of Los Angeles.

Raiders minority owner Tom Brady has been in contact with Stafford’s camp about the possibility of the 37-year-old coming to Las Vegas, according to multiple NFL sources.

Stafford, who is under contract with the Rams for two more seasons, is seeking an extension because he has minimal guaranteed money remaining on his deal.”

Stafford hasn’t outright requested a trade from the Rams, and there’s no guarantee that a blockbuster deal will happen. It simply appears to be a case of both sides wondering if there’s a better alternative before they commit to another year of the marriage.

Raiders Can Lean On Tom Brady’s Playing Experience To Help Build A Winner

In the fall, NFL owners approved Brady’s bid to become a minority owner of the Raiders. The AFC West club, owned by Mark Davis, is coming off a third straight losing season and hasn’t won a single playoff game since 2002.

Being an owner and a player on the field are two very different things, but nobody knows more about winning than Tom Brady. This is a man with a record seven Super Bowl rings, after all.

Brady of all people knows the importance of having the right QB in place to pursue a Super Bowl, so it’s no wonder that he’s doing his part to try and bring Stafford aboard.
