The Pittsburgh Steelers have scheduled a formal meeting with Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are doing their homework on this year’s rookie running back class with Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren both set to become free agents. Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network reported Wednesday that the Steelers are one of six teams that have scheduled a formal meeting with Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins will also meet with Gordon, according to Fowler.

Gordon, 21, is coming off a productive 2024 season during which he rushed for 880 yards (4.6 yards per carry) and 13 touchdowns. He also recorded 29 catches for 179 yards and a score.
However, he truly made a name for himself in 2023. As a sophomore, Gordon ran for 1,732 yards (6.1 yards per carry) and 21 touchdowns on his way to winning the Doak Walker Award, which honors the top running back in college football.
Gordon also fits the mold of the big-bodied running back the Steelers have typically looked for to be their bell cow, standing at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds.
Pittsburgh hasn’t closed the door on bringing back Harris, but in a weak free-agent running back class, Harris could earn more on the open market than the Steelers are willing to pay.
Only time will tell if that will be the case, but the Steelers look primed to draft a running back in this year’s draft, nonetheless.
“It’s a good running back class, for sure,” general manager Omar Khan said. “It’s an exciting group. … All options are on the table.”
