Many of the replies are asking though about Rodgers’ retirement. That posts reflects the anger of many Steelers fans, who expected a lot from Rodgers this season.
“Where’s the retirement post?” one account said.
Rodgers has dealt with injuries this campaign, while his Pittsburgh team has struggled at times to score. The Steelers are just 6-6 on the year. Steelers fans are calling once again for the firing of head coach Mike Tomlin.
Tomlin says he understands why fans are ticked off.
“Man, I share their frustrations tonight,” Tomlin said after his team lost to the Buffalo Bills, per Newsweek. “We didn’t do enough. That’s just the reality of it.”
Pittsburgh next plays the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Pittsburgh has a chance to get some victories and take the AFC North division, despite the struggles. The Steelers still have to play the Ravens twice, as well as go on the road to Detroit and play the Lions.
Rodgers has 2,086 passing yards this season, with 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Steelers quarterback struggled in the team’s latest loss to the Bills. He finished the game with just 117 passing yards, and completed under 50 percent of his passes.
“I totally understand the frustration,” Rodgers said after the Bills loss, per Fox News. “I’ve been booed on offense, even in Green Bay over the years. … That was a boo-worthy performance.”
Time will tell if this is truly Rodgers’ final season.
