He may be a two-time NFL Coach of the Year Award winner, but Kevin Stefanski doesn’t appear to inspire much confidence from Cleveland Browns players right now.
The NFLPA released its 2025 report cards on Wednesday ahead of the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Players are asked to grade their current clubs in 11 specific categories, including the head coach.
Kevin Stefanski, Doug Pederson and Matt Eberflus received the worst grades from the NFLPA, with each receiving a C. Pederson was fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars after a 4-13 season, and Eberlus was let go by the Chicago Bears after a 4-8 start.
Dan Quinn (Washington Commanders), Mike McDaniel (Miami Dolphins), Andy Reid (Kansas City Chiefs), Kevin O’Connell (Minnesota Vikings), Raheem Morris (Atlanta Falcons) and Dan Campbell (Detroit Lions) all got A+ grades.
The NFLPA just released it's third player survey report card:

Kevin Stefanski was named Coach of the Year in 2020 and 2023 after leading the Browns to 11-win seasons in each. Their 2020 Wild Card Round win over the Pittsburgh Steelers marked the organization’s first playoff victory since 1994.
Stefanski got the Browns to the playoffs again in 2023 despite using five different QBs in the regular season. He helped Joe Flacco (4-1 as the starter) earn Comeback Player of the Year nods, though the season ended with a blowout loss to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round.
But the Browns finished a woeful 3-14 in 2024, placing them 31st in the league standings. Perhaps the team’s commitment to quarterback Deshaun Watson isn’t helping Stefanski win over the trust of his players.
At any rate, 2025 is probably the last opportunity for Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry to show that they’re the right men for the jobs in Cleveland. Another non-competitive season will surely lead to changes.
