Neither Kendall Fuller or Terron Armstead practiced this week.
Cornerback Kendall Fuller will be unavailable and four others are questionable for Sunday’s matchup between the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. Fuller didn’t practice this week due to a concussion and tackle Terron Armstead was sidelined by a knee injury.
Despite not practicing, Armstead joins fullback Alec Ingold (calf), lineman Isaiah Wynn (quad/knee), and safety Patrick McMorris (calf) as questionable. Armstead started nine of Miami’s ten games and expects to be available Sunday against New England.
“It’s a lot of mental,” Armstead said of playing after missing practice throughout the week. “I’ve got to be locked in on the playbook, know my assignment and then have a plan for each player that I’m going against. So I do that. I do my homework.
“I make sure I’ve got a plan on how to attack each rusher, how to fit in the run game against who I’m going against so just a little extra work.”
Ingold hasn’t played since Nov. 3 against the Buffalo Bills but is another player trending in the right direction.
“I’m feeling as optimistic as I’ve felt in the last three weeks, but that will be subject to setbacks or just how I feel,” coach Mike McDaniel said of Ingold’s availability on Friday.
With two games in four days, McDaniel doesn’t expect Wynn or McMorris to play Sunday, but they could be available Thanksgiving Day against the Green Bay Packers.
“I don’t have the crystal ball so I can’t say with 100% certainty since we still have this practice,” McDaniel said, “but I would anticipate it’s more likely next week or a time after this week.”
The Dolphins began the week with 17 players on the injury report but 13 practiced in full at least once throughout the week: Defensive tackle Calais Campbell (rest), safety Jordan Poyer (rest), wide receiver Tyreek Hill (wrist), defensive tackle Benito Jones (shoulder), guard Robert Jones (knee/groin), cornerback Jalen Ramsey (knee), linebacker Tyus Bowser (knee/calf), center Aaron Brewer (shoulder/calf), linebacker Jordyn Brooks (wrist), tight end Julian Hill (shoulder), safety Jevon Holland (hand/knee), McMorris, running back Raheem Mostert (hip).
New England travels to Hard Rock Stadium with a .500 record over the last four games and will be without tackle Jaquelin Roy, who didn’t practice this week because of a neck injury. Christian Gonzalez, a rising star at cornerback, is questionable after appearing on the Friday injury report with a hip injury.
Nine others are questionable for the Patriots: Defensive tackle Christian Barmore (not injury related), tackle Vederian Lowe (shoulder), defensive end Deatrich Wise (foot), safety Kyle Dugger (ankle), safety Marte Mapu (neck), defensive end Keion White (knee), linebacker Anfernee Jennings (knee), guard Cole Strange (knee), and linebacker Sione Takitaki (knee).
