Miami Dolphins third-year running back De’Von Achane has been the focal point of head coach Mike McDaniel’s offense in 2025. Through week fourteen, the 24-year-old has 1,126 yards rushing and seven scores on the ground while contributing 55 receptions for 383 yards and 4 touchdowns as a pass catcher.

On Sunday, during Miami’s game against the New York Jets, Achane left the contest late in the second quarter with a rib injury. He did not return to action at any point in the second half.

On Monday, while speaking with the South Florida media, McDaniel confirmed with those in attendance that Achane did get an MRI on his ribs, but that the back did not suffer a fracture. Miami’s head coach went on to say that the electric running back merely needs rest and treatment this week and that Achane is “highly motivated” to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football in week fifteen.

That is good news for the Dolphins as Achane’s emergence as one of the National Football League’s best running backs is a major reason why Miami has won four straight games and five of their last six. If they manage to defeat the Steelers this coming Monday, the team will find themselves with a .500 record and an outside chance of making the postseason this year.
