A season ticker holder since 1985, Browns Fan of the Year Larry Schmitz has also participated in the team's Salute to Service

To be a fan of the Cleveland Browns is to be a dedicated, passionate and passionate person. The team has not given its fans much to cheer about in decades but, yet and still, Browns games are sold out and people are reading, watching and listening to as much football coverage as they can.

The 2024 season may have broken some even worse than the one in 2017 when Cleveland didn't win a game. Still, now mostly on the negative side for good reason, Browns fans are still passionate.

The NFL’s Fan of the Year contest really should be won by someone wearing orange and brown every year. This year’s nominee shares a love for Cleveland, the Browns as well as military service. Larry Schmitz has been to every home game since 1985 after serving in the Marine Corps:

Larry served two-and-a-half years in the Marine Corps citing he needed discipline in his life. Since handing the permission papers to his father, Larry represents his branch proudly. During the Browns Salute to Service Game at Huntington Bank Field the past two seasons, he’s had the opportunity to hold the flag with other service members for the National Anthem on the field. In 2023, Katie shared this moment with her father adding to the long line of memories created with the Browns.

You can head over to the NFL’s site to vote for Larry to win the league-wide award but he’s up against some stiff competition.
