The New England Patriots likely won’t have to deal with quarterback Joe Burrow during their Week 12 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

If that was ever much of a question…

Burrow, who suffered a Grade 3 turf toe injury that required surgery during his club’s Week 2 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars, returned to practice on Monday — officially starting the clock on his 21-day return window from injured reserve and making him eligible to be activated as soon as this weekend.

It’ll likely be much longer than that, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“I think he’d like to target that Thanksgiving night game (against the Baltimore Ravens) to come back,” Schefter said on the latest episode of The Adam Schefter Podcast. “I personally think that the most realistic target is the next week (against the Buffalo Bills).”

The Patriots and Bengals will meet before either of those matchups, and now the former officially won’t have to worry about the latter opponent receiving a boost from one of the very best quarterbacks in the business — though it likely wouldn’t have mattered considering how putrid their defense has looked throughout the season.

New England will take any help it can get, though.
