Dawgs By Nature
With much uncertainty at the quarterback position for the Cleveland Browns, there are several routes the organization could choose to take for the 2026 season. They could move forward with one of the quarterbacks currently on the roster – Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, or Dillon Gabriel. They could select one of many quarterbacks in the 2026 draft.
Lastly, one additional route they could take is to bring in another veteran bridge quarterback to run the offense.
Daniel Jones will be a free agent in 2026 and is a potential option for the Browns to target. Jones has exceeded expectations in Indianapolis and has shown some impressive flashes this season. Should the Cleveland defense continue to perform at a high level, Jones could elevate the offense just enough so that this team could put together more complete games and contend for the playoffs.
Aaron Rodgers is another potential free agent target for the Browns in 2026. At 42 years old, he is most likely nearing retirement, but could potentially have another season in him. He could give Cleveland the offensive stability it needs while also serving as a mentor and leader for the other young quarterbacks on the roster.
The rest of the veteran list, according to Over the Cap, looks pretty bleak:
If the Browns are uncertain about the quarterbacks available in the 2026 draft, it would make the most sense to sign someone they trust to a one-year deal.
