How did the 2025 NFL Draft shake up the Dolphins depth chart?
The Phinsider The Phinsider

The 2025 NFL Draft is over and the Miami Dolphins added eight new draft picks. How was the depth chart shaken up?

The Miami Dolphins attacked the line of scrimmage early and often in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they also added players to some other key areas of need. With eight picks made, the team is hoping they re-shaped the roster enough to bounce back after a disappointing 2024 season.

How do the rookies fit into the Dolphins depth chart? We update our pre-Draft break down of the roster this morning with the addition of the eight rookies selected over the last three days. This list does not include the reported signings of undrafted free agents; those signings are not official until the team announces them, and players could change their mind and sign with another team until they officially sign the contract.

With the drafted players, the Dolphins have 79 players on the roster, giving them space for 11 undrafted free agents. The reported signings have already surpassed that number, with corresponding roster moves expected whenever the signings are official. The Dolphins are still carrying tackle Terron Armstead on the roster, despite his decision to retire, which will free up a roster spot whenever the paperwork is officially filed.

Miami Dolphins 2025 depth chart (post-Draft)

Rookies in italics.

Quarterback (3)

Tua Tagovailoa
Zach Wilson
Quinn Ewers

Miami added depth to the quarterback position with the addition of Ewers, who will serve as the de facto replacement for Skylar Thompson as the team’s seventh-round pick who is a developmental project for the coaching staff.

Running back (5)

De’Von Achane
Alexander Mattison
Jaylen Wright
Ollie Gordon II

Alec Ingold (Fullback)

The Dolphins added a power back in Gordon, but he will probably see limited playing time as a rookie as he sits behind Achane, Mattison, and Wright.

Wide receiver (8)

Tyreek Hill
Jaylen Waddle
Malik Washington
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine
Dee Eskridge
Erik Ezukanma
Tahj Washington
Tarik Black

No changes at wide receiver. The team is reportedly signing several undrafted free agents who will add size to the position group.

Tight end (5)

Jonnu Smith
Pharahaoh Brown
Julian Hill
Tanner Conner
Hayden Rucci

No changes at tight end. At least one tight end is expected to join the group as an undrafted free agent signing.

Offensive line (14*)

Patrick Paul
James Daniels
Aaron Brewer
Jonah Savaiinaea
Austin Jackson
Larry Borom
Liam Eichenberg
Jackson Carman
Kion Smith
Ryan Hayes
Andrew Meyer
Chasen Hines
Braeden Daniels
Bayron Matos

*Note: Terron Armstead is still on the roster officially, though he has announced his retirement. The transaction has not been processed into the league office as of Thursday morning.

Savaiinaea, a second-round pick, should immediately slot into the starting lineup, likely as the right guard replacing Liam Eichenberg. Eichenberg falls to the top reserve guard spot on the depth chart.

Defensive line (7)

Zach Sieler
Kenneth Grant
Benito Jones
Jordan Phillips
Matt Dickerson
