The Seattle Seahawks might have raised eyebrows and collective fan blood pressure when they went into halftime tied 6-6 with the lowly Atlanta Falcons. Would they dare take the Falcons too lightly and potentially drop a critical road game?

Nah. They just woke up in the 2nd half.

A 31-3 curbstomping after intermission turned a close game into a laugher, and for a stadium that was filled to capacity to watch Georgia beat Alabama in a comically meaningless SEC Championship Game, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium was anywhere between cavernous to a second home for Seahawks fans. It was a preseason level atmosphere only elevated by the sheer number of traveling support from the 12s. And you know what? If I was a Falcons fan and witnessed eight straight seasons of mostly embarrassing losing and zero playoff appearances, I fully understand.

Post-Game: It’s time for change in Atlanta (Matt Urben, Falcons Wire)

The Falcons have been a major disappointment this season, and it’s hard not to blame the coaching staff. Head coach Raheem Morris was never able to stop the bleeding and will finish with yet another losing record. It’s also the second year in a row that the team went on a losing streak of at least four games. At this point, I’m not sure if there is any benefit to making a change before the season ends, but it’s hard to see this current staff returning in 2026.

Blank’s obvious offseason decision should see more than just Morris be fired. The Falcons need to clean house completely with a new regime. Terry Fontenot needs to go along with him, while it’s perplexing that Zac Robinson and Marquice Williams have yet to be fired amid this dismal season.
