The New England Patriots are on fire heading into their Week 11 matchup with the New York Jets. With second-year quarterback Drake Maye leading the charge, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding the Patriots amid their ongoing seven-game win streak.

There’s a new reason for excitement heading into the team’s upcoming game, though. That’s because New England will be sporting its new Nor’Easter “Rivalries” uniforms for the first time when it takes on New York.

The public reception of these uniforms has been a bit mixed, but the players seem to be thrilled to have an opportunity to break in these new unis. Maye, in particular, seemed to like the unique storm blue jerseys, and he’s looking forward to putting them to good use against the Jets.

“First thought with the storm blue is it’s a different look. It’s pretty sweet,” Maye said in a video uploaded to the Patriots’ official YouTube channel. “Seeing some of the jerseys in the crowd, it’s been awesome, and I’m looking forward to putting them on and putting them to real use.”

Maye has been putting every jersey he’s worn this season to good use. In 10 games, Maye has thrown for 2,555 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also rushing for 283 yards and another pair of scores. With those numbers and New England’s success as a team, the former North Carolina Tar Heels star has emerged as a legitimate MVP candidate.

At the end of the day, though, the Patriots are focused on establishing themselves as a legitimate playoff contender. In order to accomplish that, New England needs to continue taking care of business in its remaining regular-season games. Kickoff for the team’s upcoming Thursday Night Football game is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET.
