The popular show will focus on the Browns’ turmoil brought on by a losing season.
The Cleveland Browns will be back out on the football field on Thursday night as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a primetime matchup. Cleveland will have the attention of the entire country upon them for the first time this season.
With a 2-8 record, the Browns may rather go into hiding especially with the turmoil surrounding the team after their loss to the Saints in Week 11. They won't be able to do that with the camera crews of HBO coming to the halls of Berea in a matter of days.
Set to premiere its first episode on December 3rd, the popular Hard Knocks series will feature all four teams of the AFC North for their in-season version of the show.
While the Steelers and Ravens are fighting for the division title, the seasons for the Browns and Bengals haven’t gone as expected. The Bengals have at least had elite play from their offensive stars, Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase, despite their disappointing record.
The storyline for the Browns will be a major focus of the show. Fans from other teams will revel in the dysfunction that will ultimately be labeled as karma for the Deshaun Watson trade.
NFL teams don’t like participating in the show because it can illuminate issues on a team or front office. The offseason version of the show featured the **New York Giants and gave many head-scratching scenarios that have been highlighted during the team’s struggles this year.
This couldn’t be coming at a worse time for the Browns as they are in the depths of an awful season with a team that has been the biggest disappointment in the league. Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski may be fighting for their jobs moving forward and that will certainly be the focus of Cleveland’s story.
