As the Saints look to win back-to-back games, how has their draft outlook changed?
The New Orleans Saints have a sliver of momentum after the dismissal of head coach Dennis Allen.
Interim head coach Darren Rizzi and his squad will have a week of rest in preparation for the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 1. The team’s recent success has pushed back their pick position, but there’s plenty of football left to be played.
Here are three college prospects Saints fans should be scouting this Saturday.
Isaiah Bond - Wide Receiver, Texas
NFL Draft Buzz Projection: 2nd - Early
Even when the receiver room is healthy, it may be time for New Orleans to draft another stud wide receiver prospect. When healthy, Bond has been one of the most impressive receiver prospects in college football this season. Like Chris Olave, he has the ability to create separation and gain extensive yards after catch thanks to his insane agility. The Longhorns will have to protect their home turf against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.
Will Johnson - Cornerback, Michigan
NFL Draft Buzz Projection: 1st - Late
Several Saints’ pundits have predicted that the Saints will take Johnson in the first or second round of the 2025 NFL Draft - and it makes sense. With the departure of Marshon Lattimore, the Saints’ clearly need more cornerback support. Johnson was an integral piece of the 2023 National Championship team and has the ability to be a plug-and-play as a rookie. If he plays this weekend, keep a close eye on the Michigan Wolverines as they battle the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday.
Malachi Moore - Safety, Alabama
NFL Draft Buzz Projection: 1st - Mid
Moore has been a bright spot on an Alabama defense that has otherwise been prone to mistakes this season. He recorded seven tackles in the Crimson Tide’s big win over LSU two weeks ago. The Tide will play a struggling Oklahoma team on Saturday, but Moore and the Alabama defense must be cautious if they still want a playoff appearance.
