How many wins will the Browns reach this season?

The Cleveland Browns are on their bye week with a 2-7 record. I wanted to look at their playoff odds, as unrealistic as that may sound, on FanDuel Sportsbook. The Browns weren’t even given a category for playoff odds.

So instead, let’s look at win totals: with nine games in the books, there are eight games remaining after the bye. The Browns having over 4.5 wins on the season is getting -108 odds, while being under 4.5 wins is getting -112 odds.

In order to hit the over, the Browns would have to win at least three of their final eight games. Is that doable? If they get the effort they did two weeks ago against the Ravens, then it’s certainly possible. If they play like they did against the Chargers this past week in a 27-10 loss, then they have no chance.

Cleveland’s remaining opponents are:

New Orleans
Pittsburgh
Denver
Pittsburgh
Kansas City
Cincinnati
Miami
Baltimore

The Saints just fired their head coach and have lost eight games in a row. But Pittsburgh and Denver have been playing great defense, and you can’t imagine the Browns beating the undefeated Chiefs. The Bengals and Dolphins have been having down seasons, so wins there are possible. But Baltimore will want their revenge in the final game. Three games seems possible, but it sucks that it’s not a given, seeing how many mistakes the Browns make.

What odds would you take if you were placing a bet?
