Bolts From The Blue
Welcome to game day, everyone!
Tonight’s matchup against the Eagles is one that could end up defining this season for the Chargers. A win over the reigning — and reeling — Super Bowl Champions would give LA some much-needed cushion in their pursuit for sustaining a spot amongst the AFC’s wildcards. This goes double now that the Chiefs lost to the Texans on Sunday Night Football to drop them to 6-7. All of a sudden, that matchup looks a bit better the following week.
Philadelphia has not looked like themselves for most of this season despite the respectable 8-4 record. Their offense and defense both rank in the bottom third of the NFL and it’s honestly astounding their record is as good as it is right now.
Even with all of the Chargers’ issues regarding injuries, this is a winnable game for them if things can bounce their way tonight more often than not. If, however, things do not, the Bolts would be looking at an 8-5 record with four games left. That certainly won’t mean their out of it, but it definitely feel like the walls are beginning to close in a bit.
To avoid all that, business must be taken care of tonight.
