Here is a look at how the Las Vegas Raiders’ rookie class fared in a 10-7 loss at the Denver Broncos in week 9 and what it means looking ahead to Monday night’s home game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Tyree Wilson:
The No. 7 overall draft pick just 34 percent of the snaps down from his season average of 44 percent. It seems he’s loosing snaps to Charles Snowden. He played a season-high 44 percent of the snaps and he could continue to take some of Wilson’s play time. Wilson just isn’t taking the next step.
Michael Mayer:
The second-round pick played 62 percent of the snaps, his second fewest in a gave he was healthy in this season. He did play a season-high 40 percent of the snaps on special teams. Mayer had three catches for 22 yards on four targets. He had one more target than star tight end Brock Bowers. Offensive coordinator Chip Kelly must get both Bowers and Mayer more involved against a vulnerable Dallas defense.
Tre Tucker:
The speedy third-round pick played 100 percent of the snaps. he is the team’s No. 1 wide receiver with Jakobi Myer now traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tucker had two catches for 28 yards on three targets. he did have a 31-yardtocudhwon catch and run negated by a penalty. Tucker’s production has been up and down. With Meyer gone, the Raiders need to use him more and he needs to deliver.
Chris Smith:
The fifth-round safety from Georgia played his typical 20 snaps on special teams. He’s played just three defensive snaps all season.
