While there’s still plenty of football left to be played in the 2025 NFL season, sometimes I can’t help but take a peak at NFL mock drafts to see what experts project for the Buffalo Bills. I do understand that many of you may feel that it’s way too early to even mention mock drafts, but when Dane Brugler from The Athletic releases a new mock, I certainly pay attention.

Brugler’s latest mock, which you can view immediately below via the embedded tweet (subscribers can view the full analysis here) is based on the current NFL standings, thus the Bills have the 21st pick in Round 1.

Brugler uses that slot to select Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston for Buffalo. The 6’4” Boston currently has 56 receptions for 755 yards, with 10 touchdowns. Brugler calls his selection for the Bills “my favorite fit in this mock.”

ESPN’s Mel Kiper also thinks highly of Boston, currently ranking him at #19 on his big board. Kiper’s description of Boston will likely appeal to those in Bills Mafia who have clamored for the Bills to continue investing at wide receiver.

Kiper writes:

“Boston has developed into a nuanced route runner who uses his size and physicality to shield defenders from the football. His length and catch radius make life miserable for opposing cornerbacks. And the way Boston quickly finds openings in coverage jumps out on tape, helping him to 14.0 yards per catch on the season. He has Velcro-esque hands, allowing him to go high or low to haul in difficult receptions.”

The 8-4 Washington Huskies have not secured their bowl bid at this time, but they may be a team that Bills fans want to keep an eye on to get a better look at Boston before the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.

What do you think about this selection for Buffalo — are there other draft prospects you’re currently watching?
