Cleveland Browns fans are unhappy with the state of the team, the offense in particular and the regime of GM Andrew Berry and HC Kevin Stefanski in general. The organization has done nothing to address any of those things since dealing away QB Joe Flacco and CB Greg Newsome in trades and adding OT Cam Robinson and CB Tyson Campbell.

At least QB Dillon Gabriel is up for an award this week because the Browns continue to not make any moves around their struggling offense or even their putrid special teams.

Instead, we saw four moves to Cleveland’s roster on Tuesday, all of them on the defensive side of the ball. The Browns waived CB Trey Avery from the 53-man roster and released DT Simeon Barrow Jr. from the practice squad. Berry did not immediately replace Avery on the roster but signed DEs KJ Henry and Ochaun Mathis to the practice squad.

Henry has been on and off Cleveland’s rosters this year, while Mathis worked out for the team on Friday, along with five other defenders. Our note on Mathis from the news of his workout:

LB Ochaun Mathis – A 6th-round pick in 2023, Mathis has played in 14 games in two seasons with three different teams, with over 100 snaps on defense and almost 300 snaps on special teams

While Mathis was listed as a linebacker previously, the Browns noted his position as a defensive end for the team.
