The tailspin was ignited by a Patrick Surtain pick-six on Garner Minshew that has left the veteran quarterback lacking in his typical swagger. I would likely expect the Broncos defense to continue where they left off against Minshew and secure a season-sweep of the Raiders in a week.
That kind of confidence almost feels like overconfidence, which is about the only thing that gives me pause. Division games can be a bit crazy sometimes, but if this young Broncos team wants to change their culture and enter the ranks of playoff contenders then they have to dispatch of teams like the Raiders.
Denver ended an eight-game losing streak to Las Vegas with that win earlier this year and it was a decisive win. It feels like these two franchise are heading in completely opposite directions and hopefully that trend continues through their second matchup.
