The New England Patriots won over another broadcaster with their Week 11 primetime win.
New England dispatched the New York Jets in a 27-14 home victory on “Thursday Night Football.” Four days after impressing Tony Romo and the CBS team working a Week 10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kirk Herbstreit got to watch the streaking Patriots in action.
Prime Video’s color commentator celebrated New England’s latest triumph on social media after the game. Like many NFL observers, Herbstreit gushed over head coach Mike Vrabel and quarterback Drake Maye.
“Congrats on eight straight,” Herbstreit wrote. “Love this TEAM – incredible what Vrabes, his staff and these players have built so quickly. And how much fun is 10 to watch play? Baller! Just makes it look so easy from the pocket, like he’s at a walkthrough.”
Herbstreit later responded to the team’s video of Vrabel congratulating players inside the team tunnel, a winning tradition the former linebacker has carried out weekly since late September. ESPN’s college football expert applauded the head coach for quickly earning his locker room’s admiration.
He’s excited to see how New England finishes Vrabel’s first season at the helm.
“These players LOVE their coach!” Herbstreit declared. “He spends time with em. He teaches em, he loves on em. He criticizes them when necessary, he laughs with em, he busts their chops (in) a very funny way. And most importantly, he treats every guy from top to bottom the same and he’s authentic! This is a fun team to watch grow together each week. Gonna be fun to see where this goes with Vrabes as the Captain of the ship!”
