Windy City Gridiron
The latest Bears Banter has dropped.
We have avoided a lot of extensive talks about the stadium drama because we try to keep most of our conversations focused on the football field.
But the stadium drama surrounding the Chicago Bears has gotten to the point where it’s a conversation we need to have. But if we are going to talk about it, we need to talk about it with someone who has an understanding of what goes on in Springfield and what has been happening with this Bears stadium.
We welcome Brenden Moore from Capital News to the podcast. Brenden has been lights-out covering the events that have unfolded (or not unfolded) in Springfield surrounding the Bears stadium project, and knows about the Chicago and Indiana situation as well.
How likely is Hammond? Is Arlington Heights still in the picture? Is Chicago? Brenden breaks it all down and talks about what Illinois can do at this point to keep the Bears in Illinois.
He says it’s certainly possible, but he says if the Bears want Illinois, they will have to be patient, because he doesn’t expect the Illinois Senate to call a special session, which means the Bears will have to wait until at least November.
It’s a great, informative interview with Brenden. To watch the interview, you can do so on the 2nd City Gridiron YouTube page below:
