The Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Cleveland Brownso n Thursday.

The Buffalo Bills are on a bye this week, but they picked up a somewhat important victory on Thursday night when the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Cleveland Browns in a snowy game in Ohio.

The Steelers entered the night a half-game back of Buffalo at 8-2 with the Bills holding onto second place in the AFC at 9-2. Pittsburgh’s loss knocks them down to 8-3 with a meaty part of their schedule coming up.

Buffalo is now a full game in front of Pittsburgh for second place and just a half-game behind the Kansas City Chiefs for first place. Securing the one seed means a bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The two seed means at least two home games. Plus if Buffalo has separation from the third and fourth seeds, they are able to rest their starters in Week 18 to prepare for the postseason.

Later this weekend, the Chiefs will play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday while the fourth-place Houston Texans host the Tennessee Titans. The Baltimore Ravens, a game back of the Steelers in the AFC North, are at the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
