The Chicago Bears enter the 2024-25 regular season in a fascinating situation: they have some ballers on this team. After DJ Moore finished 9th in fantasy points-per-game last season, he was rewarded with a new contract, and at 27 years old, he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

He’ll be off the board quickly, with Keenan Allen the only Bear who may go sooner. Allen comes to the Bears after spending the first 11 years of his career with the Chargers, and in 2023 he was phenomenal with over 21.5 fantasy ppg.

You can’t blanket those two in coverage, though, because rookie Rome Odunze can really take the top off a defense after leading FBS in receiving yards last season.

Another newcomer to the Windy City is running back D’Andre Swift, a former second-round pick who ran for 1,049 yards last season, the fifth most in the NFL. He also caught 39 passes out of the backfield, so point-per-reception (PPR) format should benefit his production. He’s likely to split time with Khalil Herbert, who was able to average 9.4 fantasy points-per-game in standard PPR format last season.

The bulk of tight end targets should once again go to Cole Kmet, who’s entering his fifth season and his first on a new deal which was finalized last offseason. He was a top-10 tight end in PPR scoring last season and is a great stash later. Also in the room is Gerald Everett, who caught over 400 yards last season for the Chargers last season and should help the Bears with their personnel variety.

Oh, yeah, and there’s a new quarterback in town. And a Heisman Trophy winner, at that. Caleb Williams may need to spread the ball around to keep the Bears successful, which could very marginally limit the aforementioned skill players, but he’s the obvious X-factor on this Bears’ offense and could be a great pickup once a few of the top quarterbacks are off the board.

Ryan Poles has done well. The Bears’ GM has really stacked the talent around the #1 overall NFL Draft Pick (Williams), and it will make for a fun season to be playing fantasy football as a Bears fan.

Think you can do better? Let’s play some fantasy football games!

FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE (This league is full)

Windy City Gridiron is entering year two of our fantasy football league, and we have six open spots! In an effort to even the playing field between those who have never played fantasy sports before and those who have been playing for years, we play with very standard PPR rules. If you play with a different scoring system, let us know in the comments!...
